Our approach combines industry-recognised techniques, hands-on experience, and verification methods widely used across the UK’s established pre-owned watch market.
Each timepiece undergoes detailed checks covering external condition, serial and reference validation, movement consistency, and overall conformity to manufacturer standards.
Where appropriate, watches may be opened and examined by a qualified technician to further verify movement details and confirm all components are consistent with the original specification.
As part of this process, every watch we sell includes a Luma Clara Authentication Report, documenting the checks carried out and our professional assessment.
Independent Verification
In addition to our in-house inspection, we utilise trusted third-party resources where applicable, including:
• Serial number validation
• Database checks such as The Watch Register
• Consultation with independent specialists within the watch industry
If there is ever any uncertainty regarding a timepiece, we will always seek further verification before offering it for sale.
A Note on Absolute Certainty
While every effort is made to ensure complete accuracy, no independent dealer can guarantee absolute certainty in every instance.

Our Authentication Reports reflect our professional opinion based on all checks performed and information available at the time of inspection, and should not be considered manufacturer-issued certification.

In the unlikely event that a watch purchased from Luma Clara Timepieces is proven to be non-genuine, the following conditions apply:
• The watch must match the original model and serial number sold
• Proof of purchase must be provided
• Written confirmation must be obtained from three independent, recognised industry sources verifying the claim
Once these conditions are met, we will work with you to resolve the matter appropriately.
