Confidence in Every Timepiece

At Luma Clara Timepieces, we believe buying a watch should feel just as good months down the line as it does the day it arrives.

That's why watches purchased at the full advertised retail price include our complimentary 12-Month Mechanical Movement Warranty, giving you additional peace of mind that your timepiece is protected where it matters most: its movement.

Every watch we offer is carefully inspected, tested and prepared to meet our standards before it reaches your wrist.

Where a watch is purchased at a negotiated or discounted price, our 12-Month Mechanical Movement Warranty is not included unless expressly agreed by Luma Clara Timepieces in writing at the time of purchase.

This is a voluntary commercial warranty provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights. Whether or not this warranty applies to your purchase does not affect your statutory rights.

What's Covered

Our warranty is designed to protect against genuine internal movement faults arising during normal use during the warranty period.

Subject to the full terms below, this may include:

  • Failure or malfunction of the internal movement

  • Timekeeping performance materially outside the reasonable tolerance applicable to the particular movement

  • Failure of an automatic winding mechanism

  • Failure of internal movement components, including applicable calendar or hand-setting mechanisms

Where a covered fault is confirmed, we'll arrange an appropriate resolution in accordance with the terms below.

What's Not Covered

Our commercial warranty is limited specifically to qualifying internal movement faults. It does not provide additional commercial warranty coverage for cosmetic condition, external components, accidental damage or routine maintenance.

The Luma Clara warranty does not cover:

  • Cosmetic wear and tear: Scratches, dents, scuffs, fading, chips or wear affecting the case, case back, bezel, crystal, dial, hands, bracelet or clasp.

  • External or consumable components: Straps, bracelet links, spring bars, external bezel components, decorative elements, crowns, pushers or other external components where failure results from damage, wear or misuse.

  • Batteries and routine maintenance: Normal battery depletion or replacement in quartz watches, routine servicing, regulation or other maintenance associated with normal ownership.

  • Accidental damage or misuse: Damage caused by impact, dropping, crushing, shock, misuse, neglect, excessive force, inappropriate operation or other external causes.

  • Environmental damage: Damage caused by exposure to extreme temperatures, excessive magnetic fields, chemicals or other inappropriate environmental conditions.

  • Water or moisture damage: Water damage, condensation or moisture ingress is not covered by this commercial warranty. Unless expressly confirmed by us in writing following appropriate testing, no representation or commercial warranty of water resistance is provided for a pre-owned or vintage watch.

  • Unauthorised third-party intervention: Faults or damage caused or materially contributed to by unauthorised opening, modification, adjustment, repair or other intervention by the customer or a third party.

These exclusions relate only to our additional commercial warranty and do not exclude or restrict any rights or remedies you may have under applicable consumer law.

Eligibility

The complimentary Luma Clara 12-Month Mechanical Movement Warranty is included where:

  • The watch is purchased directly from Luma Clara Timepieces Ltd;

  • The full advertised retail price shown by Luma Clara at the point of sale is paid; and

  • The warranty has not otherwise been expressly excluded before purchase.

Where we agree a negotiated price, individual discount or other reduction from the advertised retail price, the 12-Month Mechanical Movement Warranty will not be included unless we expressly confirm otherwise in writing.

A promotional price publicly advertised by Luma Clara will be treated as the advertised retail price for the duration of that promotion, unless the promotion expressly states otherwise.

The warranty begins on the date the watch is delivered and lasts for 12 months.

The warranty is provided to the original purchaser and is non-transferable.

Your invoice, order confirmation and/or Luma Clara Warranty Card will confirm whether the commercial warranty applies to your purchase.

How It Works

Where the warranty is included, your watch will be supplied with a Luma Clara Warranty Card and its warranty status may also be recorded against your customer account.

You can use your account to:

  • View your watch details

  • Check your warranty status

  • Submit a warranty enquiry or claim

Making a Claim

If you believe your watch has developed a covered movement fault, please contact Luma Clara Timepieces before arranging any repair or returning the watch.

We may ask you to provide:

  • Your order number or proof of purchase

  • A description of the issue

  • Photographs or a short video where this may help demonstrate the fault

We will then provide instructions for returning the watch for assessment where necessary.

Please do not arrange for the watch to be opened, repaired or adjusted by another watchmaker before contacting us, as unauthorised intervention may prevent us from determining the original cause of the fault and may affect coverage where that intervention causes or contributes to the problem.

Assessment & Resolution

Once received, the watch will be inspected and, where appropriate, assessed by one of our approved watchmakers or horological specialists.

If we confirm that the issue is covered by the Luma Clara 12-Month Mechanical Movement Warranty, we will normally arrange repair of the covered fault at no cost to you.

Where repair is not reasonably practicable, including where appropriate replacement parts are unavailable, we may agree an alternative resolution with you.

Any work undertaken under this commercial warranty is intended to remedy the covered movement fault. Cosmetic refurbishment, polishing, routine servicing or replacement of unaffected external components is not included unless expressly agreed.

Repair times vary according to the nature of the fault, availability of parts and specialist workload. Any estimated completion date we provide is therefore an estimate rather than a guaranteed completion date.

Shipping a Warranty Claim

Please contact us before sending a watch back so that we can provide appropriate return instructions.

Unless otherwise arranged by us, you are responsible for ensuring that the watch is securely packaged and appropriately insured while being returned for assessment.

Where a claim is confirmed as covered under this commercial warranty, we will reimburse reasonable standard return postage costs where these have been agreed with us in advance, and we will cover the cost of returning the repaired watch to you.

Nothing in this section affects any different rights you may have regarding return costs where you are exercising a statutory consumer remedy rather than making a claim solely under this commercial warranty.

A Note on Mechanical Watches

Mechanical and automatic watches are precision instruments and their timekeeping can naturally vary according to movement type, age, position, temperature, state of wind and individual wearing habits.

This is particularly relevant to vintage and pre-owned watches.

Minor variations that remain within a reasonable tolerance for the particular movement, age and specification of the watch do not in themselves indicate a mechanical fault.

Where we have advertised a particular timekeeping specification or expressly represented that a watch meets a particular standard, that representation is not overridden by this warranty.

Full Warranty Terms & Conditions

1. Provider

This voluntary commercial warranty is provided by Luma Clara Timepieces, a trading name of Luma Clara Ltd ("Luma Clara", "we", "us").

Our company and contact details are available on our website and your sales documentation.

2. Eligibility and Duration

The Luma Clara 12-Month Mechanical Movement Warranty is provided without additional charge on qualifying watches purchased directly from Luma Clara Timepieces Ltd at the full advertised retail price.

Purchases completed following an individually negotiated discount or price reduction do not include this commercial warranty unless we expressly confirm otherwise in writing at the time of purchase.

A publicly advertised promotional or sale price offered directly by Luma Clara constitutes the advertised retail price during that promotion unless expressly stated otherwise.

Eligibility will be recorded on the relevant order, invoice, Warranty Card or customer account.

The warranty lasts for 12 months from the date of delivery and is provided solely to the original purchaser. It is non-transferable.

3. Nature of the Warranty

This warranty is a voluntary commercial guarantee offered by Luma Clara in addition to the purchaser's statutory rights.

It covers qualifying faults affecting the internal movement of the watch which arise during normal use within the warranty period, subject to these terms.

It does not replace, restrict or reduce any statutory rights or remedies available to the consumer.

4. Mechanical Coverage

Subject to these terms, qualifying faults may include failure or malfunction of internal movement components, automatic winding systems, calendar mechanisms and hand-setting mechanisms.

Timekeeping issues are covered where performance is materially outside the reasonable tolerance applicable to the particular movement, taking account of its specification, age and condition and any specific representations made by Luma Clara when the watch was sold.

Normal variation associated with mechanical watches does not constitute a fault under this commercial warranty.

5. Exclusions

This commercial warranty does not cover faults or damage caused by or relating to:

  • Normal cosmetic wear or deterioration;

  • External or consumable components;

  • Battery depletion or routine maintenance;

  • Accidental damage, impact, shock, neglect or misuse;

  • Inappropriate operation or excessive force;

  • Water, condensation or moisture ingress;

  • Extreme environmental conditions or inappropriate exposure to magnetic fields or chemicals;

  • Unauthorised modification, repair or intervention where that intervention caused or contributed to the claimed fault; or

  • Any defect or characteristic specifically disclosed to and accepted by the customer before purchase, to the extent permitted by law.

These exclusions apply only to this voluntary commercial warranty and do not exclude or restrict liability or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under consumer law.

6. Claims Procedure

The customer should contact Luma Clara before returning the watch or arranging third-party work.

We may reasonably request proof of purchase and information, photographs or video necessary to understand the reported fault.

Where physical assessment is required, we will provide return instructions.

Failure to follow this procedure will not of itself remove statutory rights and will only affect this commercial warranty where it materially prevents us from assessing the claim or where unauthorised intervention causes or contributes to the fault.

7. Assessment

Returned watches may be inspected by Luma Clara and/or an approved independent watchmaker or horological specialist.

We may compare the returned watch against photographs, condition records and technical information recorded before dispatch to establish whether damage, alteration or third-party intervention has occurred.

A commercial warranty claim may be declined where the evidence reasonably demonstrates that the reported issue falls outside the coverage of this warranty.

Declining a claim under this commercial warranty does not determine or remove any separate statutory rights the customer may have.

8. Remedy

Where a qualifying fault is confirmed, Luma Clara will ordinarily arrange an appropriate repair at no cost to the customer.

Where repair is not reasonably practicable, including where required components are unavailable, Luma Clara may agree an appropriate alternative remedy with the customer.

The remedy provided under this commercial warranty will relate to the covered fault and does not include unrelated cosmetic refurbishment or maintenance.

Nothing in this clause limits any remedy to which the customer is separately entitled under applicable consumer law.

9. Return and Shipping Costs

Customers must contact Luma Clara before returning a watch under this commercial warranty.

The watch must be appropriately packaged and insured for transit.

Where a claim is accepted under this warranty, reasonable standard return postage costs agreed with us in advance will be reimbursed and Luma Clara will arrange or cover return delivery following completion of the warranty work.

Different rules may apply where the customer is exercising statutory rights in relation to faulty goods, and nothing in these terms limits those rights.

10. Liability

This commercial warranty provides the remedies described above for faults falling within its scope.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, nor does anything in this warranty exclude or restrict the customer's statutory rights or remedies.

11. Authenticity

Any authenticity concern should be reported to Luma Clara as soon as reasonably practicable together with any supporting information available to the customer.

We may request an independent assessment from an appropriate watchmaker, manufacturer, authorised service centre or other suitably qualified specialist where reasonably necessary to investigate the concern.

Authenticity concerns are not restricted by the mechanical warranty period where the customer has separate rights under applicable consumer law.

12. Governing Law and Statutory Rights

These warranty terms are governed by the laws applicable to the sale.

If you are a consumer, you may also have rights to bring proceedings in the courts applicable to where you live.

This commercial warranty is provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights. Nothing in these terms affects, excludes, restricts or replaces those rights.
