Confidence in Every Timepiece
At Luma Clara Timepieces, we believe buying a watch should feel just as good months down the line as it does the day it arrives.
That’s why every single watch we sell—regardless of value—is backed by our comprehensive 12-Month Mechanical Movement Warranty. This gives you absolute confidence and peace of mind that your timepiece is protected where it matters most: its heart.
Every watch we offer is carefully inspected, tested, and prepared to meet our standards before it reaches your wrist.

What’s Covered
Our warranty is strictly designed to protect against genuine internal mechanical faults that may arise during normal use.

This is exclusively limited to:

  • Movement failure or malfunction

  • Issues affecting timekeeping performance beyond normal expected tolerances

  • Automatic winding mechanism faults

  • Faults with internal movement components (such as date mechanism gears or factory hand-setting functionality)

If the internal mechanics aren’t performing as they should, we’ll step in to put it right.

What’s Not Covered
To allow us to offer this warranty on every single timepiece we source, we maintain clear and strict exclusions on all external components and general wear.

Our warranty does not cover:

  • Cosmetic wear and tear: Scratches, dents, scuffs, fading, or wear to the case, bezel, glass/crystal, bracelet, or clasp.

  • External components: Straps (leather, rubber, fabric), links, spring bars, external bezel inserts, or missing decorative gems/elements.

  • Accidental damage or impact: Dropping, crushing, shock damage, or clear signs of physical misuse.

  • Water or moisture damage: Moisture ingress is not covered under any circumstances. Vintage and pre-owned watches should not be considered water-resistant.

  • Component adjustments & maintenance: Regular battery replacements for quartz watches, or crowns and winding stems that have been bent, snapped, or stripped through cross-threading or forced overwinding.

  • Third-party work: Any opening of the case back, diagnostics, modifications, or repairs carried out by a third party without our express, prior written approval voids this warranty instantly.

Eligibility
Our 12-Month Mechanical Movement Warranty applies universally to all watch purchases made directly through Luma Clara Timepieces, with no minimum cost threshold.
The warranty is valid for exactly 12 months from the date of delivery and applies solely to the original purchaser (non-transferable).

How It Works
Every watch is supplied with a Luma Clara Warranty Card. You can manage your warranty online through your personal account, where you’ll be able to:

  • View your watch details

  • Check your warranty status

  • Submit a claim if needed

Making a Claim

If you experience an internal movement issue, simply get in touch with us first and we’ll guide you through the process.
We will require:

  • Your original proof of purchase

  • A clear description of the mechanical issue

  • Where helpful, a brief video demonstrating the timekeeping or mechanical fault

Once reviewed, we will assess the issue and coordinate the best course of action using our trusted horological specialists.

A Note on Mechanical Watches
Mechanical and automatic watches are precision instruments. Because they are pre-owned or vintage, they can naturally vary slightly in timekeeping depending on daily wear, position, storage, and usage history. Minor variations within accepted brand tolerances are completely normal and are part of the character of owning a traditional timepiece.

Terms & Conditions
  1. Scope and Eligibility: This voluntary commercial warranty is provided solely by Luma Clara Timepieces Ltd and applies to all watches purchased directly from us. The warranty is valid for a strict period of twelve (12) months beginning on the date of delivery. This warranty is entirely non-transferable and extends exclusively to the original purchaser named on the sales invoice. A valid original invoice or proof of purchase is a mandatory prerequisite for any claim consideration.

  2. Definition of Coverage: This warranty provides coverage solely and exclusively for latent defects affecting the internal mechanical function / movement of the watch under conditions of normal, compliant use. A valid claim is strictly defined as a catastrophic failure or defect of an internal movement component that prevents the watch from performing basic timekeeping functionality. Minor variations in timekeeping accuracy, power reserve duration, or mechanical performance falling within standard manufacturing or historical tolerances for pre-owned/vintage watches do not constitute a defect and are expressly excluded from coverage.

  3. Absolute Exclusions: This warranty is strictly limited to the internal movement and explicitly excludes all external and cosmetic elements of the timepiece. Luma Clara Timepieces Ltd provides no warranty coverage, liability, or remedy for:
    • Cosmetic and Surface Wear: Any scratches, scuffs, dents, chips, structural wear, or degradation to the outer case, case back, bezel, crystal/glass, dial, hands, bracelet, links, or clasp mechanism.
    • External and Consumable Components: Watch straps of any material (including leather, rubber, silicone, and nylon), spring bars, bezel inserts, crown stems, external crowns, or pusher buttons that have been subjected to manual force.
    • Batteries and Routine Maintenance: Regular battery exhaustion or replacements in quartz timepieces, or routine servicing/adjustments.
    • Accidental Damage and Misuse: Any fault arising from dropping, impact, shock, vibration, neglect, exposure to extreme temperatures, magnetic fields, or operational misuse (including over-winding manual movements or stripping screw-down crowns).
    • Water and Moisture Ingress: Water damage, condensation, or moisture ingress under any circumstances. Unless expressly stated in writing on the invoice, water resistance is neither guaranteed nor warranted. Vintage and pre-owned watches must be assumed to possess no water-resistant capabilities.
    • Unauthorized Intervention: Any unauthorized opening of the watch case, adjustment, modification, regulation, diagnostic testing, or repair attempt by the customer or any third-party watchmaker/service center without prior, explicit written authorization from Luma Clara Timepieces Ltd will immediately render this warranty null and void in its entirety.

  4. Condition Inspection and Verification: This warranty remains valid only if the watch is returned in the exact cosmetic and physical condition in which it was sold, normal internal mechanical wear excepted. Luma Clara Timepieces Ltd maintains photographic, video, and technical diagnostic records of every timepiece’s exact condition, timing data, and component state prior to dispatch. We reserve the absolute right to reject any claim where external physical damage, unauthorized tampering, component swapping, or excessive wear is detected upon inspection.

  5. Claims and Return Procedure: To initiate a warranty claim, the customer must contact Luma Clara Timepieces Ltd via email or our official online portal prior to dispatching the item. The customer must provide clear, objective evidence of the alleged mechanical fault, which may include a detailed written description, photographic evidence, or video capture of the movement malfunction. No returns will be accepted or processed without prior written Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) from us.

  6. Shipping and Transit Liability: The customer bears sole responsibility for the secure packaging and safe return of the watch to our designated service center. The customer is liable for all initial shipping, insurance, and handling costs associated with sending the watch for inspection. Luma Clara Timepieces Ltd accepts no liability for items lost, stolen, or damaged during inbound transit. Inbound shipping costs will only be credited back to the customer if the claim is officially validated as a genuine mechanical fault covered under these terms.

  7. Assessment and Resolution: All technical assessments, diagnostic conclusions, and subsequent resolutions are at the sole, final discretion of Luma Clara Timepieces Ltd. Where a covered mechanical movement defect is validated, we will, at our absolute discretion, either:
    • Coordinate and execute a mechanical repair to restore timekeeping functionality using our approved horological specialists; or
    • Offer an alternative appropriate resolution (such as a store credit, partial refund, or replacement) if a mechanical repair is determined to be commercially unfeasible or parts are unavailable.
Repairs executed under this warranty are strictly intended to restore core mechanical functionality and will not include cosmetic refurbishment, polishing, or component replacement of non-faulty external parts. Repair turnaround timeframes vary based on component availability and fault complexity; any timeframes communicated to the customer are non-binding estimates only.

  8. Limitation of Liability: The total, aggregate liability of Luma Clara Timepieces Ltd under this warranty is strictly capped at, and shall never exceed, the net purchase price originally paid by the customer for the watch, as verified by the sales invoice. Luma Clara Timepieces Ltd is not liable for any indirect, incidental, punitive, or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of use, inconvenience, travel expenses, or emotional distress.

  9. Authenticity Claims: Any dispute or claim regarding the authenticity of a purchased timepiece must be supported by formal, comprehensive written documentation from at least two (2) independent, accredited, and recognized industry professionals or brand-authorized service hubs. No authenticity-related resolutions will be reviewed or actioned without this verifiable, independent evidence.

  10. Jurisdiction and Legal Rights: This warranty is governed exclusively by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. This commercial warranty is provided as an additional benefit and does not affect, alter, or diminish your statutory consumer rights under UK consumer law.
