Introducing My Collection & Our New Warranty Portal

Your watches. Your stories. Your Luma Clara ownership, all in one place.

There’s something wonderfully irrational about collecting watches. To anyone outside the hobby, they’re objects that tell the time. To the person who owns them, they can represent a first proper watch, a milestone birthday, a wedding, a promotion, an inheritance, a holiday, or simply the watch you spent far too many evenings researching before finally deciding to pull the trigger. At Luma Clara, we’ve always believed that every watch tells a story, and as we continue to grow, we want the experience we offer to extend far beyond simply buying and selling watches.

That thinking has shaped two of the biggest additions we’ve made to the Luma Clara website so far: My Collection and our new Warranty Registration Portal. Together, they begin transforming your Luma Clara account from somewhere you simply manage an order into a genuine digital home for your watches, bringing together your collection, ownership information and Luma Clara warranty details in one place.

Introducing My Collection

My Collection is a new personal area within your Luma Clara account where you can record the watches you own and gradually build a digital record of your collection. That could be three carefully chosen watches covering every occasion, a watch box accumulated over twenty years, or simply the first watch you’ve ever considered genuinely special. There is no minimum collection size and certainly no correct way to collect watches. That, after all, is part of what makes this hobby so interesting.

Importantly, My Collection isn’t restricted to watches purchased from Luma Clara. We wanted to build something that represents your actual collection, regardless of where each watch came from. Your first Seiko, the Tissot you received for your 21st, the TAG Heuer you bought after a promotion, your grandfather’s Omega or even that slightly questionable late-night eBay purchase can all have their place. As your tastes change and your collection evolves, My Collection can evolve with you, creating a lasting record of the watches that have formed part of your collecting journey.

Introducing Our Warranty Registration Portal

Alongside My Collection, we’re also launching the new Luma Clara Warranty Registration Portal, bringing another important part of watch ownership into your online account. Eligible watches supplied by Luma Clara can now have their warranty registered digitally, providing a clear record of the protection attached to the individual timepiece and making important warranty information considerably easier to access.

Each applicable Luma Clara warranty has its own unique warranty reference linked to the watch it protects. Once registered, the warranty can be associated with your account, allowing you to view important details including the applicable warranty period and expiry. It means less reliance on paperwork tucked safely away somewhere and, by “safely”, we naturally mean the drawer containing six obsolete charging cables and the instruction manual for a television you haven’t owned since 2014.

We’ve also designed the system to work beyond purchases made directly through the website. Where appropriate, the Luma Clara team can register or associate warranty information with a customer account, helping us provide a more consistent ownership experience across the different ways our watches are purchased.

Your Watch and Warranty, Connected

This is where My Collection and the Warranty Portal begin to work together. When you purchase an eligible watch from Luma Clara, that watch can form part of your wider digital collection while its warranty information provides a record of the protection associated with it. Rather than treating an order, a warranty and the watch itself as three completely separate things, we’re beginning to connect them around the thing that actually matters: the watch you own.

It’s a relatively simple concept, but one we think has considerable potential. Your watch, its ownership information and its applicable Luma Clara warranty can increasingly exist together within one account. As we continue developing the platform, we intend to build on this connection and make the ownership information surrounding watches purchased through Luma Clara even more useful.

Making Warranty Support Simpler

Hopefully, your warranty is something you register and then never need to think about again. Mechanical watches are, however, tiny machines containing an almost unreasonable number of components, so occasionally things do go wrong. When they do, getting support shouldn’t be complicated.

Our new Warranty Portal creates a clearer route for registered customers to begin a warranty claim and allows us to connect that request with the watch and warranty information we already hold. This gives both the owner and the Luma Clara team a much clearer starting point and helps us deal with any issue efficiently. Naturally, all warranty claims and coverage remain subject to the applicable Luma Clara Warranty terms and conditions.

Building a Better Record of Your Watch

There’s another reason we’re investing in this infrastructure. We believe the history attached to a watch matters.Reference details, serial information, purchase records, warranty information and ownership history can all form useful parts of the story surrounding a timepiece. Building better records allows us to provide a more joined-up experience while a watch is owned and, potentially, when the time eventually comes for it to change hands again.

Over time, we believe this can make buying, owning, maintaining and eventually selling a watch through Luma Clara considerably more seamless. Instead of repeatedly entering information about the same watch at every stage of its life, the foundations are now being put in place for that information to travel with the ownership experience.

Built for Collectors, Not Just Customers

My Collection and the Warranty Portal are part of a much bigger idea for Luma Clara. We don’t simply want to build another online watch shop. There are already plenty of places on the internet where you can click “Add to Basket”. We’re much more interested in what happens before and after that moment, and how we can create something that
